CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Arc Energy Resources is committed to upholding high levels of corporate social responsibility.

We are active in the community and maintain levels of charitable support. We are also committed to environmental issues, as demonstrated by our environmental management system certified to ISO 14001.

Our chosen charity is the Great Western Air Ambulance. The service patrols the areas of Bristol, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, and is run completely through charitable donations. The charity needs to raise in excess of £2 million a year in order to remain flying.

In 2011, an Arc Energy team of four brave walkers raised well over £3,000, by setting out on a 52 mile walk in 24 hours, along the Ridgeway. The walk raised money for Sense, the charity offering support to deaf-blind people and their families.

As a result of Arc Energy's charity approach, the Payroll Giving Gold Award 2012 was presented to the company by the Charities Trust in celebration of the organisation's decision to foster a culture of philanthropy and committed giving in the workplace.

We are supporters of Hydro International’s ‘It’s A Knockout’ charity fundraising event, having participated since 2007, proudly winning in 2009. The event raises money for Water Aid, a charity raising money to provide safe and hygienic water for those in the world’s poorest communities.

Within the local community, we work with local schools to encourage children to become more interested in science and engineering, as part of the national Go4SET scheme. The scheme links companies with teams of Year 8/9 pupils from local schools, with the aim of raising interest in future science, engineering and technology (SET) careers for pupils. In addition, Arc Energy Resources is officially a Bronze Supporter of the Helping Local Children to Play Safe and Stay Safe Campaign (www.kids-safe.net).

Our latest adventure saw a team of walkers walk 40 miles along the Cotswold Way, raising over £3,000 for Action Medical Research, the charity which raises funds to undertake medical research that will help the lives of sick and disabled children.
